The award will be presented to the selected candidate at the 2024 Critical Care Canada Forum (CCCF) Meeting, wherein the recipient will deliver a lecture as part of the scientific program.
The selected candidate will be an outstanding mid-career investigator, who at the time of application has assumed their independent research position 6-16 years ago.

The individual may have conducted work in any one of several acute care medicine disciplines and within any of the four CIHR research theme areas: biomedical; clinical; health systems and services; and social, cultural, environmental, and population health. The successful candidate’s research should also be aligned with the interests of CCCS.
The award consists of a $5,000 honorarium in addition to reimbursement of eligible expenses (e.g., travel, accommodations, etc.) for the recipient to attend the 2024 CCCF Meeting to be held in Toronto and to deliver a lecture on a research topic relevant to the research audience.
