Award Details
The A.G. Huntsman Medal is an international award presented annually by the Royal Society of Canada to recognize excellence of research and outstanding contributions to marine sciences.
It is awarded to individuals, of any nationality, who have had and still have a significant influence on the course of marine scientific thought according to the following three criteria:
- for unequalled excellence in their respective fields;
- for the influence of their work on the course of scientific thought in their respective fields;
- for their continuing and current activities at the forefront of their respective fields.
Nomination is a 2-stage process:
1. Letter of intent (LOI) due April 2 including 2-page letter and 4-page CV. Self-nominated LOIs allowed at this stage.
2. Invitations to submit a full dossier will be sent by May 9, 2025 to a selected short list of candidates, with a deadline of June 9, 2025. No self-nominations at this stage.
- The full dossier will consist of a nomination form, a full curriculum vitae including publication list, and letters of support from experts in the nominee's field of research.
